Every year I mean to make one of these and never get around to it. This year, I finally did, thanks to seeing the gorgeous one Melissa made over at The Happier Homemaker. I did mine on a foam wreath because it’s what I had on hand and added a fun starburst effect. Then I added two glittery snowflakes.
I followed Melissa’s basic tutorial but after lining the outer edges of the wreath, I added an icicle ornament (I’m not sure if that’s the “real” name for these things but you can get a big pack for super cheap pretty much anywhere). I glued on the wreath and in between the round ornaments to make sure it was sturdy. (My red bulbs are actually not shatterproof…everything I used, I had on hand already except the tiny ornaments. I had to go out and buy those to add in (just $5 for a case at Target!).
And then I just filled in all the spaces and glued on the snowflakes (which came in the pack of mini ornaments). You’ll use a lot of hot glue (if you saw my Facebook post yesterday, I discovered hot glue in my hair!).
And tomorrow this wreath will have a new home. I made it for my momma since she is hosting Thanksgiving this year.
These are super easy and so gorgeous. What a great handmade gift you can make in no time for someone on your list!
