It’s been a while since I’ve shown you another room of the house. That’s largely because there’s usually kids and kid’s stuff everywhere. But I managed to clean and take a few pictures while the baby napped and the oldest two were at pre-school today. I shoved all the junk in the foyer. It rarely looks so clean and tidy and free of cheerios smashed on the floor. Why do kids feel the need to step on them after they drop them anyway?
Anyway…this is the family room. We spend the most time in this room. I love the crown molding and detail in this room. Notice all the doors. This old house sure has TONS of them. And this is the only one of the six fireplaces we really use.
My husband just built us the white wooden tables in the pictures. I love how they came out and it saved us a ton of money!
All the baby’s toys are hidden in the trunk (when they aren’t scattered all over, that is).
The rug came from Lowe’s. The water jug with flowers in it I had made by a pottery maker at the local Farmer’s Market and I love it! The candle sticks and couches are from Ashley Furniture (floor clearance models we scored after our move!). And the big leather arm chair is a hand-me-down from my Grandma. Score.
The grey walls, the draperies and the mirror hanging on the wall were already here when we moved in so I can’t take credit for those but they go so well with the room.
The middle picture below shows the detail of the fireplace cover. So cool, right?
And finally this leads to the foyer where I’ve stashed all the junk behind the walls so I could take some pretty pictures!
