I saw these giant wooden scissors at Hobby Lobby the other day and I immediately decided they’d make a really fun wreath for my craft room! And I always have plenty of fabric scraps that are lying around waiting for a project.
-PLAID Folk Art Metallic Acrylic Paint in Gunmetal Gray
-PLAID Folk Art Extreme Glitter in Silver
-Painter’s Tape, Small Paintbrush, Foam Brush
-Spools of Thread
Start but cutting your scrap fabric into strips that are 18″ x 1″. I randomly tied them on the wreath until almost covered. To fill the spaces left, I started tying on strips of 18″ ribbon and jumbo ric rac.
Next, hot glue the scissors to your wreath. The reason I glued them prior to painting was because They actually move like real scissors so I wanted the placement to be just how I wanted on the wreath and hot gluing them on kept them still.
I covered any fabric with painters tape and then used a foam brush and small paint brush to paint one coat of the Metallic Gunmetal Gray. After an hour drying time, I painted a thick coat of the Extreme Glitter paint.
Finally, I hot glued on a few spools of thread and a loop of ribbon in the back for hanging the wreath.
That’s it! You have a cute new wreath and a slightly smaller stash of fabric scraps!
