Boys St. Paddy’s Day Tee

This is a quick, easy tee to make your little man for St. Patty’s Day.  I actually made this last year and don’t have full pictures but like I said, it’s super easy so I’ll walk you through the steps to make it!

What You’ll Need:
  • Vinyl Letters (I buy these at WalMart by the “For Sale” signs)
  • A Black Tee (Cotton or Cotton/Poly Blend tees bleach best)
  • A Spray Bottle filled with 50% bleach/50% water
  • Shamrock Stencil
  • A piece of green fabric
  • Sewing goodies
  • Sewable Heat N Bond Adhesive
  • (or you could use No-Sew Heat N Bond Adhesive to iron it on if you don’t sew)

* If you want more pictures and details on the bleaching processes, check out my Bleach Tie Tee Tutorial which is a full tutorial before beginning this project.*

Let’s get started!
  1. Place something in between your shirt layers so the bleach won’t soak through.  I have a plastic cutting board I use for making tees.
  2. Print your shamrock on regular copy paper in desired size.  Place it on your shirt so you can judge where to stick on your vinyl letters to say “LUCKY BOY”.  Press down to ensure letters are well adhered to shirt.  Set clover stencil aside while we do the bleached letters.
  3. Place something in between your shirt layers.  I have a plastic cutting board I use for making tees.   Lightly spray tee with the bleach solution and pat with a paper towels.  It only takes about 5 minutes to lighten the tee.  When bleach solution reaches the desired lightness, peel off letters and discard.  Wash and dry tee immediately.
  4. Now, take your shamrock stencil and trace it onto your Heat N Bond.  Iron Heat N Bond per package directions to wrong side of green fabric.  Cut out the clover.  Peel off backing of Heat N Bond and iron the shamrock onto shirt.  Sew around the edges with a 1/8″ seam.  (Or simply iron on if you are using the no-sew Heat N Bond).  The edges of the shamrock will fray after a wash or two if you sewed your shamrock on.
