Girls Subway Art Tee

The Boys Subway Art Tee turned out to be much more popular than I’d anticipated and I received a lot of requests for a girls version so here you go!  Check out the Boy version for the full tute but I’ll list a few things I did differently for this version below.

If you have a Silhouette you can download the .studio file for The Girls Subway Art Tee here.  Again, you’ll have to change out my daughter’s name/age for your child’s info.

Again, I printed my design on freezer paper and ironed it on and covered the edges with painter’s tape.

Then I painted the words and phrases with desired colors.  I used a combo of Slick and Matte Tulip Fabric Paints.  I had to do three coats this time since the tee is black.  Then I did a light top coating with a Sparkle paint because nothing says girly like glitter! :)

I mix a lot of my colors myself.  I buy big bottles of black and white paint and basic colors, then mix the colors I want.  Saves space in my craft room and money too!

And that’s it!  Maybe you can see the sparkle effect in this close up a bit…Don’t forget to heat set the paint with a hot, dry iron when it’s dried at least 24 hours.
