Valentine’s Felt Heart Garland

Today I’m sharing this sweet, simple felt heart garland.

This garland was something I saw on Pinterest.  The pictures make for pretty good instructions but the site is in Chinese and doesn’t have actually instructions, even when you translate it so I made a very similar one with some basic instructions.  Here is the Pinterest image (click to enlarge):

What You’ll Need:
Red and White Felt Rectangles
Pom-Pom Trim
Sewing Machine
Needle and Thread

Cut your felt rectangles into 3″ segments and sew with your machine as seen in above Pinterest pic.

Then cut each piece into 1″ segments.  This forms the little individuals hearts.

Cut the pom-poms off the trim.

Now you have all the pieces you need to start stringing your garland.

I double layer my thread for strength.  Threading the hearts as in the Pinterest pic made it hard to keep their shape so I cut my garland up and started threading the opposite way, as shown below.  The hearts kept their shape much better threading this way.  I did two hearts and then a pom pom.

Make the garland as long as you’d like and hang it up!

And if you haven’t entered my giveaway yet for a handmade tote bag and 1 year HGTV Magazine subscription you can do so here!
