There are so many variations of clothing items you can make using a simple circle skirt. My favorite tute for a basic circle skirt pattern can be found here. Each of the following are based around the circle skirt. For the dresses, I simply add a few inches in length to accomodate the empire waistline.
For this first variation, I cut off a plain white tank a few inches below the armpit area. Then I added the circle skirt and used bias tape instead of a hem. I also used bias tape to make a tie-back belt. I sewed it together to make the belt and then only sewed it on the front half to the dress. Then sewed on a simple yo-yo fabric flower and button for a cute embellishment.
