We love smoothie’s around here. I’ve found it to be a really easy way to get my picky toddlers to eat healthy food daily. My favorite smoothie is Jamba Juice’s Chunk Strawberry Topper. The closest one to us is about two hours away though! A while back, I replicated this smoothie and we always have the ingredients to make these in the house. It pairs well with the hot dogs my kids insist on eating! Or at least I feel like it balances it out a bit.
What You’ll Need:
-Bananas (Frozen or fresh depending on how thick you like your smoothie. Frozen makes it thicker and creamier.)
-Milk of choice (Jamba uses soy)
-Non-fat plain yogurt (I like to use Greek yogurt)
-Organic Pumpkin Flax Seed Granola (We use this one from Nature’s Path)
I don’t really measure anything but these are approximate per smoothie. Adjust to your taste and how thick you like your smoothie (Jamba Juice makes their so thick you need a spoon. So yummy.
Oh and for the record, I make ours in the Magic Bullet. We received one as a gift 5 years ago and we’ve replaced it once about a year ago. It is awesome. Just a random point of interest because I always wonder if some of those infomercial products actually work! Ok…on to the recipe…
Add one sliced banana and 2-3 frozen strawberries. Add about 1/2 cup milk and 1/3 cup yogurt. Add a heaping spoonful of peanut butter. Blend well. Add a handful of granola and pulse blender a few times.
Top with a few extra slices banana and/or a sprinkle of granola. Perfect on the go breakfast to start your day!
