It’s Totally Ok…

…That a magazine in the mail feels like Christmas. And that Cosmo and Glamour no longer interest you.  Bring on the Parents, Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, and Woman’s Day magazines please! As moms have very little “me” time, it’s truly the simple pleasures that keep us going.
…To make your child have a daily hour of quiet, alone time after they give up naps. That hour can be invaluably re-energizing for you and your nap-resistant toddler may even fall asleep on occasion.
…To adore your kids but still be less than thrilled when someone asks you to babysit. Being a mom is the BEST thing in the world and kids are awesome. But, let’s face it, they are often cranky, demanding, easily bored, whiny, unpredictable, gooey, and require more attention than there are hours in a day. I’m pregnant and have my own kids to deal with; I’m simply too tired to deal with yours too.
…To have no problem changing the nastiest diaper imaginable but gag at the sight of a snotty booger. What more is there to say? Even the sound of the word “mucous” makes me nauseous. Gross.
…To instantly be super annoyed with anything that disturbs your child’s nap—barking dogs (yours or neighbors), the UPS man at the door (ours rang the doorbell 3 times every time he left a package so I was forced to put up that infamous “Do not ring bell” sign over the doorbell), the phone ringing, people mowing their lawns, etc.
