Tutorial: The Colorblock Infinity Scarf and Wrap

One of my very favorite wardrobe items is a Ya-Ya Aflalo Cashmere Infinite Scarf I paid way too much for in my single, pre-baby days. I’m a firm believer in the “pay-per-wear” ideal of shopping though. If you spend $200 on something you wear a 1,000 times, it’s totally worth it. But if you spend $20 on something that falls apart after wearing it once, it was a waste of money. Here are a few pics of my beloved scarf which was the inspiration for this week’s tutorial. I love how it can be worn as a scarf or a wrap. Since color-blocking is a fun trend right now, I thought it would be cool to incorporate this into the scarf, especially since I’m a lover of all things black and neutral. I up-cycled 3 knit blend dresses that I don’t wear for various reasons and cut them into rectangles. Get the full tutorial after the pics.

This is so simple I barely need to write a tutorial for you. I used knits so no hemming was required. I love the raw edge look. As I mentioned, I actually cut up three old knit dresses in fun colors. I used 6 pieces each cut 15″x19″ and sewed them together on the 19″ side to form a tube (this way it’s wide enough to be a wrap or a scarf). That’s it! Told you it was beyond easy!

Perfect for jazzing up an outfit in warm or cold weather! :)
